North Carolina Eatery Gives Praying Customers 15% Off: Mary’s Gourmet Diner, a restaurant in Winston-Salem, N.C., is getting a lot of attention for its policy of giving all customers who pray publicly before eating a fifteen percent discount. I’m wondering if praying that the cook washed his hands throughly before handling my food would count? Also, if they’re going to give 15% off for just a prayer, you’d expect at least 50% off for someone sacrificing a lamb.
College Lacrosse Players Smoke Most Pot: NCAA researchers found that 46 percent of college men’s lacrosse players admitted to using marijuana in the past year, more than twice as many as athletes in track, basketball, tennis and golf. The NCAA vows to eventually “weed out” all the pot smokers.
Trappers Search for Otter That Attacked Swimmers: Wildlife trappers in Washington state are searching for a river otter blamed for a rare attack on humans that sent a boy and his grandmother to the hospital. To be honest, I’m not the least bit surprised. I had an angry otter flip me off the other day. This is further proof that if you go swimming in local rivers, you otter be real careful. A good rule of thumb is to always “do unto otters as you would have otters do unto you” – which probably sounds otterly ridiculous.
