Browne sued McCain for using his song "Running on Empty" in a campaign video without his permission. This isn't the first time McCain used music without permission in a political campaign. In 1780, he was sued by Mozart.
The singer-songwriter sued McCain and the Ohio and national Republican committees in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles on Thursday, accusing them of using his song "Running on Empty" without his permission.
Ironically, if Browne wins a huge settlement, the McCain campaign will be "running on empty."
